The 23 campsites and stops on the Agadir coast, from Imsouane to the Massa river: prices, dump stations, surf, winter season and parking rules around Taghazout.

From October to March, the coast around Agadir becomes the winter capital of European motorhomes and vans: 300 days of sunshine, water that stays around 18 °C, waves for every level and campsites open all year. Between the surf village of Imsouane in the north and the Massa river mouth in the south, the directory lists 23 campsites, stops and spots along some 150 km of coastline in the Souss-Massa region. Here is how to choose where to park, from north to south.
The coast at a glance
- Imsouane and Tamri (55 to 90 km north): long waves, fishing villages, banana groves — the wildest stretch.
- Taghazout, Tamraght and Aourir (12 to 20 km north): the heart of Moroccan surfing, cafés and surf schools, and also the busiest area.
- Agadir: the city for shopping, garages and paperwork.
- Tifnit and Souss-Massa National Park (40 to 60 km south): cliffs, cave villages and birds, much quieter.
Imsouane and Tamri: the wave coast
Imsouane is famous for "the Bay", one of the longest right-hand waves in the country, perfect for longboarding. The Imsouane campsite (70 MAD) overlooks the harbour and the "Cathedral" break, with water, showers and toilets; the Imesouane campsite opens straight onto the beach. Further north, Golden Targante in Tafedna is one of the few campsites on this coast with a dump station, and the Tabayat cove, reached by a track, is completely wild.
In Tamri, among the banana groves, two well-equipped places face each other: Atlantica Park (110 MAD, wifi, restaurant, grocery) and the Atlantica Beach stop, which also has a dump station — handy before heading down to Taghazout.
Taghazout, Tamraght and Aourir: surfers' territory
Taghazout lines up famous breaks (Anchor Point, Killers) below a village clinging to the cliff. Taghazout beach and gentler Tamraght ("Crocro Beach") suit beginners. To sleep: Terre & Océan above the beach, the fully equipped Atlantica camp in Imourane (145 MAD, the priciest on the coast but shaded and complete), or the family-run Aourir campsite (80 MAD).
Parking: overnight stays on the seafront car parks around Taghazout are less and less tolerated, with frequent checks in high season. Plan to sleep in a campsite; pitches go fast between December and February, so arrive early afternoon.
For a break inland, the Paradise Valley road starts in Aourir: the Devil's Rock viewpoint above the argan trees, and the Aqesri stop on the way to the rock pools. The road is narrow and winding: avoid it with a large motorhome.
Agadir: supplies and servicing
Agadir is the logistics base: supermarkets, mechanics used to motorhomes, parts and gas. The municipal campsite (100 MAD) is in town, within walking distance of the beach and marina; Atlantica Parc in Aït Melloul (110 MAD) has more shade and quiet. On the road to Taroudant, Paradise Nomade in Drargua (90 MAD) is a peaceful stop away from the city. Don't miss the view over the bay from the Agadir Oufella kasbah.
Down south: Tifnit and Souss-Massa National Park
Past the Souss river the mood changes: fields, argan trees and cliffs. Sidi Bibi has several small campsites, including Bakanou (90 MAD, water, electricity, showers, wifi) and La Palmeraie near Tifnit, a fishing hamlet with houses dug into the cliff. Furthest south, Wassay Beach (85 MAD) in Sidi Ouassay has the beach right below the camp, a few kilometres from the Massa river observatory, one of the last refuges of the northern bald ibis.
